Hotel de Ruesga is perfectly renovated 17th century palace which now hosts a charming hotel in a wonderful location -- surrounded by pretty gardens on the banks of the river Asón. The hotel's interior features 19th century frescos by the Catalan painter, León Criach. The guestrooms are spacious and elegant, with modern fabrics, wood floors, satellite TV, radio, minibar and many little extras. The palace has retained the original sitting room with open fireplace and also has a snooker room, sauna and a gym. The hotel owners, the Caprile family, have given a unique, eclectic style to Torre de Ruesga. The cuisine is a blend of traditional Cantabrian and international dishes. This is a peaceful place un unwind and relax. This special hotel is located 50km from Santander and has six double rooms and four suites. A very stylish hotel, in wonderful grounds and glorious scenery; sympathetically renovated to a high standard. Individual service from the owner and her staff, excellent food and a well constructed wine list. Everything that we were hoping for and a hotel we will certainly revisit.

This was for us the final night before our return journey back on the ferry. this was a palace in the 16th century and were were treated like a king and queen by Carmen who is a wonderful woman who was brought up in madrid but her family is italian (beware fast women drivers) however, |i love this woman she can not do enough for you. She looked after us like a king and queen, more than we expected. We are going back because she made us feel so welcome. God bless Carmen

A series of fine establishments. Posada del Valle is super for the 8 year old and above set. Torres de Ruesga was fabulous!

Although this was the most expensive of our stay, it was well worth it. Staff very helpful and organised a trip to the local caves, suite perfect, swimming pool a big hit with the children. Breakfast menu superb

I didn't want to come home. The location is stunning, the building is beautiful and the lady that runs it is thoroughly charming. It felt as though we were visiting a family. It is one of the most wonderful places I have stayed in and can definitely recommend a tower room for special occasions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Carmen and her staff are delightful. It's a wonderful place, the hotel has a lovely atmosphere.
Rating: Very Good
My only reservation (otherwise it would have been an 'excellent') was that the evening meal choice was somewhat limited during our stay i.e.not everything on menu was available when requested.
Rating: Very Good
Pitty about the weather though but I guess cannot be helped & not much in the vicinity but Staff & Owners very welcoming, helping & friendly. Would recommend to anyone.
