Awaiting 2012 prices from the hotel. This small palace, in Valencia de Alcantara, near Caceres, was built in the 16th century at the time of the discovery of America. Originally built for the influential Escobar-Jerez family, in its lifetime it has been the home of the Town Governor, a pharmacy, a customs house, a cavalry army hospital, a school, and now a delightful small hotel. Five years were spent rescuing and revitalising the lovely old building and creating this special small hotel. It has a total of of nine rooms (double rooms, junior suites and suites) all with full, spacious bathrooms and decorated uniquely. The rooms have travertino marble, detailed woodwork, Egyptian linens, air conditioning, network wi-fi, access to Internet, flat screen televisions and minibar. The main part of the house has a splendid ashlar granite façade with cross-vaults, stone fronts, granite slab floors, brick vaults, chestnut wood doors, and a stone spiral staircase - creating an intimate and elegant ambiance. The hotel has a small spa center with a steam bath and a heated jacuzzi swimming pool and guests may use a nearby golf course (reserve in advance) at the 18-hole Ammaia in Marvao. The restaurant serves fine regional cuisine with a good winelist (meals approximately 30-50 euros pp).

For stays of 1 or 2 nights: If cancelled more than 7 days prior to reservation, no hotel penalty. If cancelled within seven days of reservation the hotel will charge the amount of one night.
For stays of 3 nights or more: if cancelled within seven days of reservation, hotel will charge 30% of entire stay. In cases where client has booked three or more nights and shortens the number of days reserved (upon arrival or during stay), the hotel will charge 30% of the cost of the remaining nights. In case of no-show, 100% of complete stay charged.
Balearic & Canary Islands
If cancelled between fifteen and eight days of reservation date, the hotel will charge 50% of the total nights reserved. If cancelled seven or less days prior to reservation date, hotel will charge total amount of stay. In case of no-show, 100% of complete stay charged.
