Hotel Pintor el Greco is a 17th century typical Toledan house, which was once used as a bakery. It has been extensively and carefully restored conserving the facade and the patio with fountain and has several galleried floors with balconies and windows throughout. There are 61 rooms equipped with air conditioning, internet access and all the conveniences of a modern hotel (and the hotel also has a couple of rooms where triple or quadruple occupancy is possible) . It is located in the Jewish quarter, an area full of history and tradition, and is well located for visiting many of the most important museums and monuments in Toledo such as The Museum House of El Greco, the Synagogue of el Transito, Palace of Fuensalida, Church of Santo Tome and the Cathedral. There is public parking 300 meters from the hotel (and also street parking around the hotel). From this hotel there is a wonderful view of Los Cigarrales - the typical country houses on the banks of the river Tagus. This is larger than most of our small hotels, but the location and friendly service make it a valuable addition to Inns of Spain. The hotel is eight minutes driving from the train station (by taxi) and you can get a bus from the train station to Zocodover Square, which is 10 minutes away walking. The hotel is now under the management of Sercotel and more rooms have been added and a complete renovation of all rooms has been completed.
Family Information
Extra beds are free for children 2 to 12.
Notes
It takes about an hour to get from Madrid to Toledo, by train or bus (and both cost around 6 euros). If you choose to go by bus, from the Madrid airport go to a Mendez Alvaro bus station (south of the city) by underground, line 6. Buses run more frequently than trains. A train to Toledo can be taken from the central train station in Madrid.

The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We would stay again.
Didn't Like:
The breakfast seemed over priced. There was much better value eating at cafe's close to the hotel.

The hotel is very nice. Air conditioning was great. It was quiet and they serve a good breakfast. Most of the sights we wanted to see were in an easy walk of this hotel. The front desk could have been a little friendlier and less reserved. My family and I were in a strange place and a little unsure of ourselves a little warmth at the front desk would have been a little reassuring. Thanks.

Staff at hotel could have been friendlier. Room clean and big enough for three people. Good location for checking out the old part of Toledo.

The hotel was very well placed for visiting Toledo. Being around a courtyard the rooms are dark and not too well appointed but it is a city hotel and as such was very good and very reasonably priced.

Reception staff were knowledgeable but not very friendly and none of them ever smiled. Paying extra for the safe is a practice we have never come across before. We felt it was not made clear about the charge for parking prior to arrival, but that was ok being a major tourist centre, but were rudely told we had to vacate the parking spaces by midday even though we wanted to make more of a day of it so we were there for less than 20 hours
