A small, unpretentious hotel that our more laid-back clients love, is the Punta Sur, about 7 km. from Tarifa. A short walk across the road (and a horse paddock) is a gorgeous secluded beach. It is popular with windsurfers (as is all of Tarifa) and this little hotel is a friendly and comfortable place to spend time. Some clients commented that if you want to just kick back and enjoy the scenery, the beach and the water, this is tops. It is located at the foot of the La Pena mountain and is in an Andalusia meets Motel style. The rooms are simply decorated but comfortable and the restaurant is casual and serves great food. There is a large swimming pool, tennis court, bar, terraces and gardens. Half board is also available. This is a sister-hotel to Hurricane Hotel in Tarifa, which is just 500 metres away. Guests at the Punta Sur are welcome to use the facilities, beach and restaurant of the Hurricane Hotel. Note: 7 night minimum stay in July and August. News from Punta Sur 2007: All the rooms at The Punta Sur have now been refurbished. The double and twin rooms are very spacious and comfortable and eight bedrooms have been transformed into family suites to include 2 bedrooms with a living room area. . All the rooms now have TV, DVD, air-conditioning and heating. Every room has been decorated in an individual and slightly retro style so the choice is yours. The swimming pool at The Punta Sur is enormous, and a tennis court and massage is also available. Clients have the use of the gym and sauna at The Hurricane. New dishes have been added to the menu and a herb and vegetable garden has been created at The Punta Sur.
