Hotel Amadeus Sevilla is located between the Barrio de Santa Cruz and the Juderia, very close to the Giralda. The old hotel is built around a typically Sevillian patio of the 18th century (1745), and has been recently refurbished while retaining its original charm. There are nineteen rooms, all with their own bathrooms, each uniquely decorated and with television (plasma in La Musica), telephone, air conditioning, minibar, wi-fi and safe. There is also a convenient computer with internet access in the lobby on the first floor, free of charge to guests. From the roof terrace you can see almost all of the oldest part of the city with the Gothic domes of the Cathedral of Seville and the Giralda. The hotel has a musical theme befitting its name (The house of music). There is a grand piano in the lobby where recitals are sometimes held (featuring established soloists, music teachers, young artists and members of the Seville Symphony orchestra). There are lots of restaurants in the area and breakfast is available at the hotel. La Musica is an annex to the hotel (next door). The rooms are similar and the musical theme is the same -- there are six exterior-facing rooms (some with a small balcony) and six interior-facing (patio) rooms. Breakfast (not included in the price of your room) is taken in the main Amadeus hotel and you need to check in at Amadeus also. The family who own the hotel are delightful and helpful: we feel that this is a small, friendly and welcoming place to stay. This hotel does not accept AMEX.

Lovely place. Roof-top terrace for breakfast. Musical theme. Nice quiet room. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location near everything we wanted to see. Very reasonably priced.
Didn't Like:
Nothing, but room was maybe a bit compact for a longer stay (we did 2 nights).

We truly enjoyed this warm wonderful hotel. The hotel owners made us feel like we are guests in their home and we could enjoy several of their rooms including the rooftop garden with tables and umbrellas. The rooms were lovely and the atmosphere of art and music was beautiful, very unique. We appreciated the maps as we had to ask a taxi driver to lead us to the parking and he drove us to the hotel using the map as there were no hotel signs posted in the street. Breakfast was expensive for the food served however there were many good choices nearby. Hotel Amadeus and Seville, a wonderful experience.

Hotel Amadeus was another wonderful accomodation we loved! Very cosy, wonderfully decorated with all the musical instruments. The staff were very helpful and accomodating as well. We had breakfast on the rooftop terrace although we felt bad someone had to lug a tray up a couple flights of stairs. Breakfast offering was nice. This hotel was another great find!

Though this hotel was not easy to locate, due to how the streets are in Sevilla, we did enjoy our stay very much. The hotel staff was very helfpul. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel is close to EVERYTHING, which is an added plus. The breakfast on the roof terrace, though a bit pricey is indeed worth it just for the views.

Very welcoming family run small hotel

We traded rooms with our friends because they were so disappointed in their dark room facing the patio (vs. the street). It was definitely not the same quality as the asme priced double superior with a balcony. It wasn't just dark, but the furnishings were inferior. Other than that, we loved the hotel location, rooftop, common areas & hot chocolate machine!
Rating: Very Good
Beautiful room in their annex. Only objection is that we needed ear plugs because the tapas bar at the corner was noisy til 1:00am. Also, would highly recommend that you go elsewhere for breakfast. The Amadeus tries hard, but has little to offer other than coisants/rolls and coffee and one fruit, plus juice, and it was very costly. The beautiful room made up for the noise and breakfast.

Our recent stay in Seville was somewhat marred by the area's first rainfall in two years - three days out of our five-day stay were very wet! Certainly not the fault of the hotel, but it meant that we weren't able to take advantage of breakfast on the roof terrace with it's wonderful views of the cathedral and giralda. This hotel has plenty of character - musical instruments everywhere and classical music playing quietly in the background. There is a piano in the main lobby and we had the pleasure of hearing a guest playing whilst we packed for home on our last night. Our room (102 - Mahler) was roomy and comfortable, was kept scrupulously clean by the busy maids and, as mentioned in another review, the sheets were changed daily. The fresh flowers were a nice touch. The air conditioning was very effective - and yes, we did need it even though it was October and the heavy rain had brought the temperature down considerably. There was a drinks machine directly outside our room and a computer with internet access - although this wasn't working for part of our stay (something to do with the unusual weather?) Staff were friendly and helpful, spoke excellent English and helped us in our attempt to try and speak Spanish! There were only two downsides - there was some noise from both inside and outdoors, but this is to be expected in an old building which lies in a busy area of the city, and is a small price to pay for such good accommodation in a very convenient location. For peace and quiet you would need to stay in a character-less chain hotel which has double glazing, but which could be in any city in the world. The other slight snag was the breakfast - this was very efficiently served in either the main lobby, your room or on the roof terrace, but was unvaried with no choice. However, it was only 7 euros and certainly saved a dash through the rain to one of the many nearby cafes. These are minor gripes, and we would certainly stay at Hotel Amadeus again hoping for drier weather.

The air conditioner worked great - very important for late June. The staff was helpful and the location was very convenient. We would stay here again!

The atmosphere with classical music was very nice. The view and balcony was gorgeous, having breakfast on the roof was great! The room was a bit small though, there was very little space for our luggage.

A beautiful hotel, with very friendly/helpful staff. An excellent location. Very comfortable room. Fabulous views of Seville from the terrace. The same breakfast every day was a little monotonous, but worth it for the views of Seville.

One of the rooms (we had to move rooms between nights) off the lobby was a little noisy. Having breakfast on the roof terraza is very special, though, and the location is ideal in the heart of the old city. My cell phone was stolen while our bags were left in the hall waiting for our room to be made ready upon arrival.

Too much street noise, otherwise excellent.

I liked the hotel very much but the walls are thin and you can hear every single noise made by the cleaner in the morning at 6 am or when guests come back to the hotel at night. When we tried to explain to the lady at reception she said she would get us a quiter room. However on coming back from a day's visit to the local sites they said they could not change the room. So we ended up leaving for a quieter hotel
