The property of San Martin dates back over a thousand years, having once belonged to the Abbot of San Victoria, the oldest monastery in Spain (the ruins are located nearby). The current stone structure was begun in the 18th century and has recently been sensitively restored to a delightful, comfortable, rustic hotel. The property sits on 180 acres and is surrounded by pine and oak forests. On the two upper floors of the main house there are eight bedrooms, each with its own modern, spacious bathroom. In a converted stable attached to the main building there are a further two bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom and private entrance. The rooms have underfloor heating, hairdryer in the bathroom, telephone and stereo and each is differently decorated in warm tones with comfortable furniture; all have spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and two have south-facing private terraces. On the first floor is the dining room with open fireplace (cuisine is regional), and a reading corner -- perfect relaxation for cold days. On the second floor is a lounge with fireplace and satellite television. The friendly staff will help you plan outdoor activities
