Special season is during Easter and the Ronda Feria
Jardin de la Muralla (walled garden) is in a very pretty spot in the historic centre of Ronda in a house which was once owned by the famous bandit Flores Arocha. Today it is a small, intimate, casual and unusual hotel with just five guest rooms. This particular part of Ronda is quiet and sunny. The gardens are arranged on five levels following the Moorish tradition and have a view to the old Jewish quarter and the Arab baths, beyond which are the mountains of Ronda. In the middle garden there is a swimming pool (rare for Ronda but very welcome on hot days) surrounded by the old wall with a backdrop of the church Espiritu Santu. The garden is full of trees and flowers and the views are appealing. The rooms are comfortable (all ensuite of course) and are decorated with period and local style furniture. They have air conditioning, minibar and internet access. A buffet breakfast (included in the price of the room) is served in the bright dining room or outside on the terrace. There is no restaurant at the Inn, but there are many restaurants within walking distance. When you arrive at the hotel you will be advised where to park (parking is not a problem in this quieter part of Ronda). If you are driving from the coast (Marbella) as you approach Ronda you will see the walled old town at the point where you would turn left to the main road that runs through Ronda. The owners have dogs (just so you know!) A recent guest commented "the inn is a perfect starting point for walks among narrow streets, visits to quirky museums and shady plazas, and an easy stroll to the precipitous path into the gorge for a dramatic view of the Puente Nuevo"

WOW, absolutely loved our visit. The people, ambience, setting and relaxed style brought a perfect ending to our Spanish travels. Not to mention the garden, pool and of course Caroline - the little dog. Not to be missed

the 1 and only fault, there is no bar to get a drink, after a long day in the sun or after dinner it would have been idilic to sit in the garden terraces with a long ice cold beer, and chat with other guests

What a lovely hotel, a real Garden of Eden. We would definitely recommend the hotel to any friends visiting Ronda. Only improvement would be queen or king sized beds.

Everything. This was the first hotel on our route aroung Andalusia. My Spanish is limited and was relieved to be welcomed by Pru from Manchester. The hotel is lovely with a spacious salon, which I am sure is cool and inviting in the summer. We were travelling over the Christmas period and we came well prepared for the forcasted rain and cold. The weather was as predicted cold and were pleased to find a cosy room waiting for us. Jose the innkeeper was entertaining at breakfast with interesting stories of the hotel and Ronda. We really enjoyed our stay. I should mention that the hotel has a beautiful garden, which Jose proudly show us around, even through the high winds has taken their toll, it didn't take much imagination to see that it is wonderful in the summer. Its on 6 terraces overlooking an extensive valley. There a lots of little areas for quite sunbathing, reading etc. and of course a pool. Not that we were able to take advantage as the temperatures demanded a ski jacket and gloves as opposed to a bikini!!

great hotel, very charming & intimate. The staff were excellent, really made us feel welcome. Only problem we had was in leaving!

Don't expect a flash hotel style experience, it has a basic local 'inn' character. The location and gardens are great. Guy running it very helpful. Ronda is busy but very interesting. We'd stay there again!

hotel itself was a delight and the staff were very welcoming and helpful

It was a traditional house - which is what we liked - with a beautiful garden. We only stayed one night but it was a nice start to our holiday.

This 500 year old inn was very charming, in a great location with beautiful terraced gardens, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There are some good restaurants on the plaza just outside the wall, Casa Maria and Bodega San Francisco. It was one of our most memorable stays of the trip.

Excellent greetings from staff and beautiful hotel

Charming with a great atmosphere. Have recommended it to others. Some aspects are a bit tired, but were inconsequential to us in light of the wonderful setting. Very quiet.

The accomedation and people are outstanding, however for the price they charge I would expect a little more extensive breakfast. Only toast and applejam every day and bottled orange juice is in my oppinion a bit poor. Only one boiled egg, one slice of cheese or ham per person would make a lot of difference.

The location was excellent and the gardens were beautiful. We had a lovely breakfast on the terrace. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. An interesting old building with the atmosphere of a country inn - our room could have used a few minor updates but all in all it was very good value.

This small hotel was exactly what we were looking for - in the old part of Ronda, a charming old house with a wonderful garden, small pool and great views. Breakfast was lovingly served in the garden to a background of classical music which provided a perfect atmosphere.

Owner & his asst were very accomodating and helpful. Room was nice; location good, gardens wonderful. Toast and coffee for breakfast was meager and they need to change the batteries in remote controls and lightbulbs in the living room!

The staff, location, and general ambiance were all terrific. We had two rooms on the main level (one for husband and myself, and one for children). The terrace and gardens were so special. The staff was helpful, generous, and friendly. My kids loved the two dogs (Pekinese and small cocker spaniel). Nicely located between Espiritu Sanu Church and a great pub. Five minute walk to Puente Nuevo, but not entirely touristly. Rooms with bath/shower combo lacked some of the usual amenities such as hairdryers, tissues, and clocks. Closet space small. But beds were good and rooms were clean. Spend the extra for the suite on the 2nd floor overlooking the terrace- magnificent views. It was a wonderful experience.

We received a nice welcome. However it would be nice to have a hairdryer and it can also be quite cold in the winter.

Dark, cold, wet. Part of this was the weather but it smelled like mildew. Breakfast was a piece of toast and a cup of coffee.

This hotel is an experience. A bit of a weird experience although not unpleasant. Its more like bed and breakfast than a hotel. The website should mention the owners' dogs because not everybody likes dogs. We weren't expecting to have to share our breakfast table either.

yard is beautifull but the room was not so pleasant.
