Hotel El Pati was built in the 18th century in the centre of the medieval town of Peratallada, surrounded by stone walls, the countryside, the clocktower and the castle. Innkeepers Jose and Yolanda have restored the house as a small country inn, next to their prestigious restaurant. The guestrooms have been carefully designed and decorated, with lovely bathrooms, antique furniture and interesting artwork, all of which combine to create an intimate yet fresh ambience. The walls of the castle border the inn's garden. There are many interesting activities in the vicinity, including the village of Ullastret 6 km. away, the Dali museum 15 km. away and the beaches of Begur, Calella, Llafranc, Palamos. This is not a suitable hotel for children. The restaurant is closed from 12 October to the beginning of February but there are many restaurants within steps of El Pati. There is no parking at the hotel. Everyone visiting Peratallada must leave their car in a parking lot at the entrance to the village.

Everything was outstanding at El Pati, the service exemplory, the food was 5 star and the rooms extremely comfortable. It may have been the best of our 3 weeks in Spain.

Wonderful place, service, food. Perhaps the website didn't do the room justice. It was beautiful.

The location and the room were both outstanding. The hotel was very accommodating as well, giving us a choice of two wonderful rooms.

This was a very lovely, immaculate and charming inn with helpful innkeepers/staff. And the town was quiet and full with wonderful restaurants and ambience. One small suggestion, not a big problem--people staying at the inn might need to know from the website or check-in that you don't have to pay for daily parking--there is a ticket issued through the hotel. We only found this out after paying daily. The restaurant at the hotel was excellent, and the grounds very beautiful. Also, it would be useful if the inn had some information abotu surrounding villages/towns and sights. Again, we found these on our own, and had a wonderful time, but for those who have less time, this kind of informaton would be most useful for those new to Spain. Gracies.

I loved it and wrote up a good review for Tripadvisor.com. One issue it would have been good to know--on Wednesdays in the off season (this was first week of May) the whole town of Peratallada shuts up: no restaurants, shops, nothing is open.

This was not only a beautiful hotel with a very nice restaurant but we loved Yolanda, the owner. The breakfast was one of our best in Europe. The hotel and town are both gems. Yolanda is a superior host and decorator and we loved our 3 days in this wonderful little hotel.

Beautiful room and facilities. The garden and restaurant were wonderful. Great food and imaginative breakfast. The only problem was the incredible and unusual heat wave. The room was very!!hot at night and there was no airconditioning. Three of the four night very difficult.l

Our cheerful room was large, beautiful, sunny, and we loved the deep bathtub and dramatic sink. The restaurant also didn't disappoint. A lovely place.

Liked:
Beautiful garden restaurant, excellent breakfast served by a friendly and charming young lady. Room was really lovely with excellent furnishings and decor with a monsoon shower and separate sitting area. Very spacious and luxurious.
Didn't Like:
The person who greeted us was not particularly friendly or informative. She then locked the garden gate so that my husband could not bring the luggage through and was told he had to bring it through the front entrance and could not come back through the garden restaurant although there was no-one there. As we had just arrived he didn't know where this was and it took him 15 mins to find his way with suitcases. They seemed deliberately unwelcoming and awkward about this. On the day we wanted to leave there was no-one there to check out and pay the bill and we had to wait until after 11 to do this. They did not seem interested in hotel guests. The garden for guests was overgrown and there were no hammocks or chairs. Air conditioning in the bedroom or at least a fan would have been appreciated. The bedroom was very noisy as it went over the road and people were outside until 2.00a.m.
