Set amongst stunning scenery in the South of Spain, Huerta Las Terrazas is the perfect relaxing holiday destination. Within easy reach are the unspoilt beaches of Zahara, ancient Roman ruins in Bolonia and cosmopolitan Tarifa, renowned for wind and kite surfing. Huerta las Terrazas is a tranquil country house, magnificently situated on the edge of the vast Los Arcornocales National Park. It has great views across the Straits of Gibraltar to the mountains of Morocco. Set in 3 acres, seven terraces offer areas of sanctuary and beauty. The pool is constantly replenished with fresh spring water that descends from the mountainous backdrop. The main house offers three ensuite double bedrooms offered on on a bed and breakfast basis. The ground floor room has its own entrance and outside secluded reading area. The upstairs rooms look out to open skies and the continent of Africa. Rooms have been furnished in a simple and comfortable manner, calm colours, soft fabrics and traditional furniture. All of the water supplied to the rooms is freshly drawn from their own spring. Only breakfast is served but the local area offers a broad selection of restaurants from traditional tapas to contemporary cuisine. Please note that your final bill must be paid in cash, not by credit card. Alistair and Amy have extended their home to welcome you. They want to offer you as much attention or space as you need to enjoy your holiday. In order to help you relax completely, a blend of massage, Reiki and Cranio – Sacral Therapy is on offer (ITEC Qualified).

Notes Tarifa offers opportunities to ride horses along windswept beaches, surf the waves, climb rock faces and mountain bike in the hills. November to May is the best time for walkers to see the wealth of wild flowers that grow in the area. If you like golf, you are near to more than a dozen courses including Valderama, voted Europe’s top golf course and host to the Ryder Cup Tournament. Expansive sandy beaches characterise the coast of Costa De La Luz. Relax on the unique beaches of Bolonia, where sweeping sand dunes meet pine forests; windsurf at Playa de Valdevaqueros, location of the annual world surfing championships, or explore the rocky coves of La Caleta to the east of Tarifa.

“The only problem was that when we came to pay they didn`t accept Euro Travellers cheques, only cash. We pointed out that you had said they did accept these and they were going to get on to you about it. But I should think not everyone would want to pay in cash, especially if they were staying for longer than a few days as we were. As we had only been there for 2 nights were were able to pay in cash as it happened. The service was excellent and they were charming.”
