Ca Sa Galesa is a superb twelve room city hotel in the heart of old Palma in a building originally dating to 1576. The rooms, each uniquely decorated, are named after famous musicians. Built around a central patio, the rooms, the lounges and El Cafe Ricks where breakfast is served - can be accessed. On the top floor is a sun terrace with comfortable loungers, a dipping pool and an honesty bar. On a lower floor is a fitness centre, a sauna and a unique original roman bath (cooled in summer and heated in winter). This pool is the only one of its style still existing in the gothic district of Palma. Various special baths and massages are offered at the hotel (starting at approximately 90 euros). The style of the hotel includes touches of Mallorquin, French, Italian and English traditional styles -- including windows from the 16th century, brass, marble and wooden floors imported from Puerto Rico, wooden furniture from the end of the 17th century and walls of Mallorquin pine. The beautifully equipped bathrooms are decorated with French mosaic and Mallorcan stone and have jacuzzi baths (and of course robes, hair dryer, and luxurious linens. ) This is an intimate inn where the aim is to make guests feel totally at home. In a replica of Monet's kitchen, guests may help themselves to afternoon tea and cakes, or a sherry before dinner. There is not an 'official' restaurant, but room service can be arranged if you wish or the staff can make dinner reservations at one of the many surrounding restaurants. If you are looking for a special place for a wedding anniversary, honeymoon or any special time, this would be ideal. There are a very limited number of parking spaces available at the hotel but there is a public parking lot about ten minutes walk away. If you want to explore the island, just ask the hotel to organize a rental car for you.
