In the surroundings of Tarragona (about 33 miles), this inn was once the village potters house, dating back to the early eighteen hundreds at a time when the potters were moved from the centre of the old village to the then-new area of the "Raval dels Canterers". Originally, the pottery workers would lay out their handicrafts to dry at the front and on the groundfloor of the house. Recently, the property was restored maintaining the original beams and stonework and decorated with elegant antique furniture to create a charming rural guesthouse of five rooms. Kiko and Jayne, the proprietors, completed a total renovation of this Catalan countryside house in 2009 and look forward to welcoming you to their beautiful creation. The five ensuite rooms (two with double beds and three with twin beds) have hair dryer, tea & coffee making facilities and central heating and are furnished with comfortable beds and interesting antique furniture. Miravet and its surrounding area is rich in culture, history and tradition, with the beautiful Ebro river winding through the region. The village has a chemist, small grocery shops, bakery, three bars, two restaurants (5-10 minutes walk), post office, banks, newsagents and an open air swimming pool in the summer months. There are larger supermarkets just ten minutes by car. Please note that this is a strictly non-smoking inn.
Notes
Miravet is located in the south of the county of Ribera d’Ebre (known as “The land of the sweet fruits”), crowned by the imposing cliff-top castle of Miravet with spectacular views of the river and the surrounding landscape. The castle was built by Moorish rule and was conquered in 1153 by the Templars and is regarded as one of the finest examples of Medieval Catalan military architecture in the western world. You can visit the castle by either taking the walking route up or driving up.

The owners are very nice and they did a wonderful job on remodeling the home, and making the interior as charming as it only can be. From the entrance you are welcomed by a stylish and cozy living room with a fireplace, books, a self service bar. From the dining room there was an exit to the little garden with spa. Our room was large with a large bath - everything like new. Tasteful furniture and design. Our room had a view to the mountains and orchards. Very peaceful place. We stayed one night longer than planned.
Didn't Like:
We visited in September and there were not many opened restaurants in the immediate area. A suggestion would be for the owners to offer something in the evening for additional charge, like in other similar places. Something simple. Perhaps a visiting cook could take care of it.
