“The accommodations were very good, although the shared double was a bit too small. (My friend and I had to coordinate movements around the room and the beds.) However, the location and price were excellent. The staff was just terrific; very friendly, very helpful and very accommodating. There is no question but that when I go to Madrid I would stay there again. ”

“Very cool and stylish hotel. Small rooms but very comfortable. Great breakfast, more than we expected. Our luggage did not arrive from Heathrow, and this was our first night in Europe - the staff at Mario/Campomanes were extremely helpful, and phoned the airline several times for us to ensure that luggage was in Madrid and on way to hotel. ”

“The complimentary breakfast was the best I have seen while in Europe. There were numerous items to choose from including meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, cereal and delicious fruit. It was also available until noon in case we slept in late.
Hotel staff were very friendly. The hotel location was central to many sights and the Metro yet off the main drag and therefore quiet.”

“Only a very short stay, but as on our previous stay, the staff members are extremely helpful and friendly and ensured that we found good food, taxis (even at 4.15am), mobile phone services when mine died on our last day in Spain. “The hotel and staff were so nice, the hotel was centrally located and close to a Metro stop. We wanted to extend our stay but were unable because the hotel was booked full. The staff found us alternative lodging and was able to even reserve it for us at the same rate! Wonderful service!”

“The heating in the room was a bit too hot and we could not work out how to turn it down. Although it was January, the weather was unusually mild. We had to open the window to get some cool air, but could not leave it open at night, of course, as it was the 'French window' type. Hotel staff very helpful. Breakfast very good. Location excellent”

“Parking at a remote hotel caused problems with luggage and need for taxis. Very noisy street out side the room shouting and banging doors from 8pm to 4pm following morning. This spoilt the good things like central position - close to places to eat. ”

“The hotel was clean, well-situated and the staff was helpful. The breakfast was good and abundant. Great coffee. The only negative part of our experience was the bathrooms in the rooms. They are literally in the room - divided from the main bedroom only by opaque glass doors - you can hear, see and SMELL everything. Not very romantic! I would not recommend this hotel for newlyweds for this reason. And even for an (older) married couple like us, it was not comfortable for this reason.”

“There was extensive construction and noise. We had a beautiful suite but had to move to a very small room because of the noise. Hopefully, this is a temprary situation, because as a whole, the hotel was very nice and the accommodations (including breakfast) were excellent. Staff was very accomodating and helpful.
