The Petit Palace Art Gallery is a boutique hotel situated on calle Jorge Juan, between calle Serrano and calle Velázquez, in the exclusive area of antique shops and galleries near the National Library, El Retiro Park and the Archaeological Museum. The hotel occupies a fully remodelled landmark building erected in the early nineteenth century, with an exclusive outdoor coffee garden. There are sixty one rooms in the hotel, incuding high tech rooms (which have a personal computer for guest use, exercise bike, valet press, hidromassage shower and king- or queen-size bed) and family rooms for three or four people (king size or twin beds plus bunk beds for children). A baby cot can be provided free of charge in the family room. The rooms are spacious and have modern, fully equipped bathrooms. There is Wi-Fi access throughout the building and all rooms have a laptop with free internet access. Restaurant Numerus Clausus serves good regional and traditional cuisine and the bar is the Cafe Cafetech with an outdoor terrace. We have chosen to include this hotel in our group to meet the needs of those travelling either on business or with family and friends, as it offers excellent value in a special location.
Notes Colon underground station is the nearest metro. There is public parking nearby (Velazquez Street). Note that prices vary according to events in Madrid. You will be advised exact price at the time of your enquiry.

“I arrived and even though they asked me to say when I was due to arrive, the room wasn't ready (15:45)It was 40 mins before the room was ready. Later I went to dinner and the receptionist said the restaurant downstairs would be accepting reservations but the restaurant was totally closed (9pm). Surely the receptionist should know when the restaurant is open or not. The room was small but that it was quiet and with the lap top and wifi, didn't matter. I thought it was fine.” Rating: Good

The staff was rude, condescending and unhelpful in all scenerios!!!
Jetlagged we had to wait (2 hrs) for a cleaning lady to put down my daughters bed, as they could not be bothered at the desk to tell us. They also sent us to the worst restaurant in the area.....No warm fuzzies here!”
