Located 20 minutes from Girona and an hour and a half from Barcelona, El Raco de Madremanya consists of two different buildings: a magnificent 17th century stone farmhouse and a beautiful, contemporary style construction that is perfectly integrated into the surroundings thanks to its combination of stone and wood. The farmhouse, completely renovated and dating back to the late 17th century, contains 7 spacious rooms with terraces, fireplaces and several lounges with pleasant nooks and crannies. In the other contemporary style building there are 3 rooms, as well as the dining room with beautiful views of one of the swimming pools and the garden. The garden's 3,000 plus square meters, covered in lush grass, house 2 beautiful swimming pools (one of them with salt water) for warm days. El Raco de Madremanya is an enchanting 10 room hotel with all the charm of a medieval village and the comfort of impeccable details. Each of its rooms has a different personality and decoration. The 3 suites and 7 rooms are decorated differently and boast a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy a few days of relaxation here amidst the landscapes of Les Gavarres and the Empordà. The owners will be very happy to help you plan your excursions to the many fascinating villages and beaches in the area. The inn's continental breakfast includes many traditional local products and, if you wish, (and order in advance) lunch and dinner can also be prepared for you. There is a very good restaurant within a minute's walk of the inn. The inn specialises in home-made Mediterranean and regional dishes. Please note that you need to leave your car in the parking lot at the entrance to the village and walk the short distance to the inn - of course if you phone the owner on arrival you will be helped. 7 night minimum stay in August. This is a gorgeous property in a very quiet village, yet centrally located for all sorts of excursions. Highly recommended.
