This small, traditional hotel located in Lucainena de la Torres in Almeria, has sixteen double rooms and suites, each ensuite and uniquely decorated. Some of the rooms have one big bed and others have twin beds and special beds they are too. They were supplied by Ernst Frank, owner of the Arcos company based in Basle, Switzerland. Their speciality is the design and manufacturing of the very latest in high quality, ergonomically designed bedding made from only the very best in antiallergenic materials. Each room has air conditioning, minibar, safe, multi language T.V. hair dryer and internet connection. The suites have spacious terraces with panoramic views and either a Jacuzzi or hydromassage shower. The style is a blend of traditional and modern designs. Many of the artefacts are from the local museum (hence the name) and there are many significant works of art throughout the hotel. The Swiss owners speak many languages including English and will be pleased to help you plan your stay in the area. The restaurant has a traditionally Spanish atmosphere and serves a variety of both Andalucian and national dishes. The restaurant's decor features a large collection of antique farm implements. The wine cellar is stocked with wines from not only the various regions of Spain but also a selection from other parts of the world. This is an ideal location for those who love hiking, biking, birding, exploring caves, golf or watersports - or of course just relaxing.

Within easy reach of Lucainena de las Torres there are many beaches and the Cabo de Gata Natural Park with its beautiful landscapes with a wide variety of plants and birds including the exotic flamingos. Visit Sorbas, famous for its houses built right on the edge of a cliff. Illuminated at night they give the sensation of looking up at an enchanted castle. Nijar: Nearby you will find the town of Nijar famous for its pottery and traditional textile looms on which, to this day, the local residents produce blankets, rugs etc. La Alpujarra: Situated along the lower southern slopes of the snow capped Sierra Nevada, the area includes dozens of enchanting hamlets and villages nestling between green fields and chestnut forests. The melt waters from the snow form many crystal clear streams which ensure that the many soft fruit trees flourish alongside the ancient farmhouses. A great interest for British tourists would be a visit to Yegen, the village in which the writer Gerald Brennan lived during the 1920·s and which gave the inspiration for him to write South from Granada, a wonderful insight into life in what was at that time, a very isolated community. Be sure to return via Laujar and Fondor where you will be able to visit one of the local vineyards and sample the wine. Granada as a day trip is also possible from here (140 km.).
