“The Hotel was fabulous, the management wonderful, the room brilliant. Food at the restaurant was a gastronomic delight. The staff looked after our son and organised a cot at late notice. Their English was much better than our Spanish!!! There was a mess up with the booking and the Sara De Ur staff were great. Thanks. Had a wonderful time.”

“Lovely hotel and very friendly. Breakfast a little shambolic with coffee served out of a vacuum flask and only lukewarm. Bread not very fresh. Would stay here again and have breakfast on the road.”

“Very accommodating hotelier and the premises were very nice. Use of pool at neighbouring camp site is entirely satisfactory. Lack of air conditioning, though, will hold them back. Didn't eat at the restaurant (closed on Sunday night) but the recommended local joint was great.”

Friendly & helpful staff in a very laid back hotel! Pool area quite nice to cool down around. Good stopping point on way back to Bilbao from south east of Spain.

Hotel more of a motel than a hotel. Interior of duplex room was quite dark, dated and hot (no A/C.) Restaurant meal was ok and taken outside in garden but despite good reviews on INNS OF SPAIN website breakfast was very simple. Hotel seemed to be short staffed, particulary in the morning. Overall our stay worked out quite expensive considering the standard of accomodation and food.”

The houses of the hotel lie in a garden within a complex surrounded by a high wall. When we arrived around 18:00 in the afternoon the hotel was dark and closed. The telephone number on the door didn't work. We found an employee in one of outhouses. She wasn't expecting us but opened the house up and registered us. We were given a room in the annex and told that she would leave at 21:00 so if anything happened at night we should phone the number on the door (which I already knew didn't work).
I told her I wasn't comfortable being the only guests in a hotel, fenced of from the outside world with no employees present at night. She insisted that there were other guests staying in the main house but I very much doubted it seeing as it was completely dark and closed off when we arrived.
I didn't feel safe and we decided to depart.
The employee was friendly and I can appreciate that at certain times of year business is slower. However, the contrast between the atmosphere pictured on the website and the actual situation on arrival is misleading. They should either close the hotel or warn that there is a limited service at certain times of the year.”
