It is important that you let us know approximate arrival time for this small, special inn.
In the heart of the Albaycin, in the midst of the pedestrian only small streets and lanes, is this pretty Moorish house from the 16th century. From its terraces and miradores, full of flowers and pots, there are splendid vistas of the Alhambra and the Albaycin, the Sacromonte and the ancient Arab walls of the city. All the rooms are decorated in an intimate Arabic style combining wood, marble, antique blue tiles and soft furnishings - and each room is different. There are just five rooms, Sultan (suite with a kingsize bed), Fuente, Linderaja (with direct access to roof terrace) and Aljibe (with queen bed), and one small double room. Each is suitable for only two people - no extra beds are available. All rooms have one bed (no twin rooms). Some have a little private patio, perfect for an afternoon nap. Others have hydromassage baths (all have full bathrooms). In the communal spaces, also in the Arab style with arches and strong touches of colour, there are three fireplaces for colder nights. The house is 30 metres from Paseo de la Tristes, a large terraced area with views to the Alhambra, five minutes walk from the Plaza Nueva. A car is not recommended in this pedestrian only area and there is no parking at the little hotel. There is public parking about 15 minutes walk from the hotel. This is an exceptionally beautiful place to stay in Granada, however it is small establishment with few staff on duty all the time. Breakfast is served at 9:30 a.m.and guests share a big table. Please note that there is no hotel sign on the house -- just look for the number 6 on the front of the building. Highly recommended. A recent guest comments "A remarkable place to reflect, a welcome destination, in a fantasy setting". This little inn is like your own private house in the Albaycin - very unhotel-like.
Family Information
Horno de Oro does not have any extra beds. The maximum number of people per room is 2.

difficult to drive to and did not know that the street it was on was actually a small foot lane -- no cars. However, hotel was lovely and would recommend as a great place to stay. great location

I would strongly recommend this Hotel. I took my girlfriend there to propose to her and the Hotel contibuted to making the whole holiday a very memorable break. The decor is amazing and there is a lot of attention to detail. If you've been to Granada and in particular the Alhambra, then you'll know what a special place it is and Horno de Oro compliments this beautifully by creating a real Arabic feel. The staff are very fiendly and always on hand to help you with whatever you need. It's a family business and it says a lot that we even had an uncle(Jesus) wait most of the afternoon to greet us when we arrived. You really feel you've stayed somewhere special here.

The Casas del Rey de Baeza (sp?) in Seville was excellent...wonderful staff and accomodations. In Granados, we stayed at a guesthouse -- Hotel de Horno -- which was fine, and reasonably priced, but despite your good instructions, and our seasoned traveling experience, we found the hotel a little difficult to find and the transaction somewhat confusing.

an extrodinairy home with incredible warmth and views to match. could have stayed thre for weeks.

The hotel owners were very gracious and kind and helpful, even though we spoke little Spanish. Very hospitable people. Made our stay very pleasant as did the other guests of the hotel. We enjoyed the morning breakfast (we didn't realize this was included.)

Beautiful room with patio, top floor, no elevator; wonderful view of the Alhambra. Staff very polite, very limited English, very helpful; very nice breakfast; 5 min walk to plaza; would definitely stay there again; Nice restaurant 3 mins away "Azafron," first meal excellent, 2nd good.

The inn is a work of art. Our only complaint is that our stay was too short to have enough time to just enjoy the inn itself, particularly the rooftop terrace. The inn is located on a quiet lane just off a quite busy street,so you feel safe in the area. This is not a great place if you expect concierage-type services and staff to pamper you (staff were very helpful but were minimal and non-English speaking, although this was NOT a problem). One of our favourite places on this trip, and we look forward to a return.

Cannot recommend this hotel or its management highly enough. Only caveat: it is extremely hard to find ones way in Granada by car, and it would be good if you explained this more clearly to guests in advance.

The Innkeeper gave us a history of the house. In itself, this made the choice worthwhile.

Beautiful house - spectacular. But very small room. It was the cheapest they had - we requested a standard room but the others were much more expensive. Excellent service. No regrets.

A work of art, will recommend to all my friends who go to Granada. By the way, there IS parking nearby, just ask at the Bar on the corner and they will give you tips where to park. You don't have to drive all the way back to the centre of the city (St.Augustin). Our suite had direct access to the patio/terrace.

hotel was beautiful but could'nt swing a cat around in the room, it was FAR TOO SMALL, pleased we were staying one night only, and the room was next to the street and it was VERY noisy at night.

When we booked, it was not made clear that the medium price room was available for the last night which we would have preferred. It was a lovely place to stay.

The place we stayed was stunning and a wonderful experience however it was not clear how to contact anyone (I think at one stage we were the only people there) when we needed to arrange things. Overall tho our stay was excellent

Paula wonderful hostess - helpful at all times. Superb converted house in great location withing walking distance of most things and with view of Alhambra from the roof deck. My wife and I were placed in the smallest room, our friends were upstairs, which is only just big enough for 2 people. We should have been warned of this beforehand although everything else about the place made up for it (just!). As for most places we struck in Iberia the beds were firm which seems to help one's back but not enhance sleep!

I would consider this a Mansion. It was lovely. The onsite manager at the time did not speak english so communication was difficult. I understand that the normal manager was ill during our stay. The Location was wonderful.

This was a beautiful inn, in an excellent location and with a charming owner. The room was comfortable and had plenty of character. The areas that needed to be improved upon, particularly for a UK market were an increased number of English speaking channells on the satellite tv but moreover, increased facilities for the provision of food and drink at the hotel. There needed to be a bar, either in t

Horno de Oro is an interesting place to stay, but it is no more than a bed and breakfast and as such I think it is over priced. Breakfast was fine, but the same every day ( we stayed 4 nights). The staff were not very friendly.
