In the Albaicin, the heart of old Granada and within eight minutes walking distance of the Alhambra, is this pretty 15th century house that has been restored and is now a charming small inn with fourteen rooms. All the en suite rooms are elegantly decorated and each is different. The Suite Room has a sofabed which can accommodate a third person (for an extra charge). Looking on to a patio with a Moorish pool, you are surrounded by the galleries off which the rooms are found. The old wood, columns and tiles from a restoration done in the 17th century have been painstakingly restored, and carefully integrated into the older part of the house. The rooms have free internet service ADSL. There is a pretty breakfast room and a patio garden with glimpses of the Torre de Comares of the Alhambra (sipping an aperitif here is perfect on a hot Granada day-there is no bar but you can bring your own special drink). There is no restaurant at the inn, but lots of interesting places to eat in the vicinity. It is possible to get a car to this location and there is some parking on the street directly outside the hotel. There is also a private parking spot at 12 euros a day (request in advance). Be warned that driving and parking in this area of Granada is challenging. Please note that a patio-facing room is a room facing inwards towards the patio and the lobby; an exterior facing room has windows facing outwards looking at Granada. Much of the the Albaicin has narrow, pedestrian-only cobbled lanes and alleys -- be prepared with good walking shoes. The English-speaking staff are exceptionally helpful.
Notes
One room has wheelchair accessibility, with the bathroom door being 80 cm. wide. Access to the hotel with a wheelchair will be a bumpy ride due to the cobblestone streets. It is possible to take a bus (6 departures a day from the airport to the city for about 3 Euros: 9:00, 12:45, 13:40, 17:20, 18:15 and 19:45 ), taxi (20 Euros) You can book Alhambra tickets online at http://www.ticketmaster.es/nav/landings/en/mucho_mas/entradas_alhambra/index.html The hotel can also book them for you if you advise details in advance. Granada airport is located about 16 Kilometres west of the city near the small town of Santa Fé. The access to the airport is from the A92 Seville motorway.

Any applicable City and regional taxes (usually in the range of 1-3 euros per person/night) are collected by the hotel at checkout.

We were very glad that we chose Casa Morisca on our recent visit. We had Room 14, which has views of the Alhambra from the bedroom and a bathroom with two windows - one looking directly at the Alhambra and the opposite looking towards San Nicolas in the Albaycin. The room was nicely furnished, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel has a Moorish theme and felt very authentic. Breakfast is served in the cellar room and had a good choice buffet which is not served until 8 or 8:30. However, the staff were very accommodating when we asked for two early breakfasts (one at 7 a.m.) and they are happy to serve you in your room or on the outside patio. We had no problems with noise, either from the lift, other guests or from outside - even though Granada was very busy on our last night as there was an important football match on. Neither were we disturbed during siesta time - although Room 14 does face away from the street (a dead end with no through traffic). We did not have a car but it seemed fairly easy to find and there was parking in the street outside. However, I would not advise anyone to try and drive in the Albaycin where the streets varied between 1.5 and 1.9 metres wide! There is an excellent bus service from Passeo de los Tristes, just at the bottom of the street, which will save you the ten minute walk into Plaza Nueve/Gran Via de Colon for the many bars and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wanting an authentic Andalusian experience.

The hotel is gorgeous! We LOVED it. The room was wonderful, comfy and luxurious. The staff was very nice. THANK YOU! I wished the photo book in the hotel salon about the hotel's history and refurbishing had also been available in English. I was very interested in the history and wanted to read it! It's my fault for not being able to read Spanish!

I sent a note on the other feedback form about Casa Morisca. Our reservations for our first nights stay were incorrect, and one couple had to stay elsewhere. The staff was very helpful with the problem, but it was our only glitch in all our nights in Spain. Your places to stay are superb, though a bit difficult to get to. You should indicate if parking is away from the hotel, and what to expect for expense (Casa Azulejos) Good job overall!

It was a beautiful hotel, full of character, and a delight to stay in. We had a gorgeous room external facing room. I think I would have been a bit disappointed if we'd got one that faced the patio as it might possibly have been a bit dark. Anna was great in helping us to locate and book some great restaurants. I would definitely go back here and without a doubt recommend it to family and friends.

Mre charming than we expected. First rate in our book. The staff was exceptional. The room was fresh and comfortable. Wonderful remodel of such a beautiful traditional home. Modern facilities yet keeping the feel of the original house. Our favorite thing was that the whole hotel smelled fresh. We travel a great deal in southern Europe and our usual observation is the intense smell of cleaning products in most hotels. Casa Morisca just had a nice fresh air of perhaps light herb tea that we found very pleasing.

The location is in the heart of the interesting areas of Granada. The hotel itself in a fantastic Moorish style, made with taste. The reception service was excellent and friendly. In our view, the hotels would certainly deserve more than the 3 stars indicated. We have already recommended this hotel to other friends.

The room next to the elevator was a bit noisy in the morning, but we so appreciated having an elevator that we didn't mind! If you use taxi's make sure your taxi driver knows that you know the route to your hotel and that they don't take the long way! There are good taxi drivers in Granada and those that take advantage.

Superb!!! Great Location, beautiful hotel. Our suite was fantastic. The best part was laying in bed with the window open and having an incredible view of Alhambra at night. Would recommend the hotel, and this suite to anyone who wants a luxury stay in Granada at a fair price. The only downside was that I didn't take Barbara's advice and book tickets to Alhambra ahead of time. It was a bank holiday, and we didn't get in.

Another charming hotel. Nice rooms. Could not have a better location to visit the Alhmambra. Only slight negative is that I was told by reception that breakfast was included when we got there and it was an extra charge (and not worth $7 per person).

Lovely place. Very quiet and sedate with the ambiance of Granada. The website did describe a patio for sipping aperitifs, but a reminder that you needed to bring your own alcohol would be good.

We found the hotel fine with a local map. It would be helpful to tell guests that only small cars can be parked and manoevered in and out of the aera, streets have a 1,50 meter maximum broadth. Friendly, quiet, nice location.

As with all hotels they were very helpful but wheelchair access is not sensible without warning potential client that the road is about 1 in 3 and cobbled with the ramp home made and very steep. We managed OK but it should be in the description.

This is a charming, very clean and friendly inn, just across the river from the Alhambra. Very comfortable, modern rooms. Only drawback was that our room (#2), was next door to the registration desk and underneath the stairway, which made it rather noisy. I would definitely stay again, but would request a room on an upper floor.
Rating: Very Good
The hotel is a lovely old house, well situated and quiet with good access to the Alhambra and a good range of bars and restaurants.

The room was noisy as the window was at street level - however it was pre Easter. My last request was for two single beds but there was only one double bed in the room and as it was the weekend there seemed to be no immediate solution to this.

no double bed, as requested, not were two singles made up as one bed. Also, noisy situation, due to teenagers by the river!

This hotel is nice, but for the price we found the room a bit small and the staff was not as helpful as some of the other places we stayed at.

Owner was on vacation, staff was somewhat reserved.
Rating: Good
I am really ambivalent about this as the hotel was brilliant and staff lovely but it was very very noisy outside at night. The young people of Granada assemble to party on the terrace just down from the hotel until 4 in the morning. So,no matter how great the hotel was I am unlikely stay there again.

Very difficult to find - needs a better map
Rating: Good
rooms too small though.

The hotel itself was really good, but its main problem was the air conditioning, which seeed to work against any wishes. If the weather would have been really warm then we would have had a problem from the heat. Otherwise the rest was excellent for a three star hotel.
Rating: Good
well located nice hotel

Given ground floor room next to front door - hence considerably disturbed by fellow guests pressing entry buzzer and opening and closing two lots of heavy doors. I would not allocate anyone this room without explaining the limitations first! Reception staff very helpful and breakfast excellent.
