Originally a Renaissance-style Palace built in the sixteenth century, and owned by a distinguished Spanish family, it is now a beautiful small hotel in an area of the Albaicin that is within walking distance of the Alhambra and the Generalife and close to the many bars and restaurants in the old quarter. Accessed from a typical Granada side-street, next to the river Darro, the house is arranged around a quadrangular patio with stone pillars and galleries. The guest rooms are arranged around the patio, along with the kitchen and dining room. There are five rooms, including one magnificent suite, all with ensuite bathrooms, ADSL internet, television, and a few with views of the Alhambra. The pretty garden and terraces include a small pool, an orchard, and lovely fragrant flowers throughout. Tapas available for lunch or dinner (approximate price of a light meal 20 euros). Note that parking is very difficult, if not impossible, in the Albaicin. You should definitely park at one of the lots in the main town--and the Puerta Real lot is closest-- and take a cab to the hotel, or walk (about ten minutes walk). This hotel is not accessible by car. NEWS: The Tepidarium (warm room in the roman bath) is now available with therapist-instructor Pedro Perez Ortiz from the Shiatsu School in Granada and his team. There is an opening special offer: Two nights in a double special room, two Essential Massages, fruit and candles in the room, Dreams of Alhambra tea at 375€ (VAT incl.). If the weather is fine, the massage will be in garden solarium.

This hotel is wonderfully located. It's right by the main plaza and near the Albaizin. (spelling?) You need to take a 15 minute bus ride to the Alhambra. Our favorite part about this hotel is that it really felt more like a home. The concierge speaks english fairly well and she was very helpful with directions and restaurants. She also was the cook and she made us a fantastic breakfast in the morning. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique place to stay. We loved it as it made us feel like we were in someone's home in Granada...not a tourist hotel. There is no hair dryer and the rooms have a rustic elegance about them. Make sure to read the detailed directionsthey are helpful...and when you arrive at the door, there is a pull chain to the right of the door... you need to pull it to ring the bell.

I loved Anna (the hotelier). She came out into the alley to find us, when we couldn't tell which was our hotel...
