Ca'n Verdera is a spectacularly beautiful small hotel in the centre of the little village of Fornalutx. Hidden behind a stone facade, the three story building - built a hundred and fifty years ago - hides a tranquil garden with fountains, gardens and swimming pool amidst orange and lemon trees and hibiscus flowers. The hotel prides itself on friendly and discreet service and personal attention. With just eleven rooms, it is the ideal place for relaxation. The rooms and suites are spacious and comfortably furnished. Some overlook the garden and others the narrow cobblestone streets of Fornalutx. Many of the rooms have their own terrace or balcony. The Penthouse suite is one of the nicest rooms we have ever seen - a stunning 120 square metres with lovely views and a wonderfully luxurious bathroom. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but does serve snacks and tapas around the pool and in the bar area, both at lunchtime and in the early evening. There is a lovely vine-coverered terrace overlooking the valley with mountains where breakfast is served when the weather is fine and a delicious breakfast it is - with a variety of cold meats, cheeses, pastries, fruits, cereal and yogurt. It can also be served in your room if you wish. The gardens and swimming pool complete the ambience of the hotel. Relax on the Moorish patio under the shelter of palm trees, or enjoy a refreshing shower in the grotto. The staff are happy to organize activities in the vicinity of the hotel, from diving courses, golf, mountain biking and hiking. Massages and beauty treatments are available in the spa room or in-room -- which you should reserve in advance. An airport transfer from Palma can be organized - just ask. There is free wi-fi in all the rooms and throughout the hotel. This small hotel is adult-oriented.
