Located on one of the most prestigious streets in Écija, El Palacio de los Granados stands on the ancient Roman 'Via Agusta', a road that once connected Rome with the important provinces of its empire. The standard double rooms are located on the first and second floors, and all can comfortably accommodate two guests with either twin/twin or queen sized beds (with extra long twin beds to accommodate tall guests.) Since the hotel was once a palace, some of the grandest rooms have been converted into suites, each unique and with all the modern conveniences of an upscale hotel, including Queen sized bed, convertible sofa bed, antique furnishings, separate living area, new bathrooms with showers, TV, telephones and data jacks, central air conditioning and heating. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, and the tapas bar is open each afternoon & evening. Guests can also arrange dinner at the hotel with a special menu de jour which features the freshest products available and is served in the garden or courtyard dining room. The concierge can also provide restaurant recommendations and arrange reservations for you at several nearby restaurants - or you can simply explore the winding streets of the town to discover a favorite dining spot. Ecija is a wonderful alternative to Seville for exploring the area - much less crowded.
Notes There is a bus service for Madrid, Cordoba or Seville to Écija. Hotel transfers can be arranged from the airport and train station with an English-speaking driver- enquiry for prices. This is a great base from which to explore Andalucia. Visit Seville, Cordoba, Granada, route of Artealia, and route of the white villages (Zahara de la Sierra, Olvera, Grazalema, Ronda). Ornithological route, over a hundred different bird species. A rich collection of mosaics is preserved in some of the palaces and museums of Écija. The remains of the Roman Forum circa 250 BC have recently been discovered beneath Écija's main plaza. A five minute walk from the hotel, you will be amazed by the almost perfect condition of the columns and terraces surrounding the ancient Roman baths.
