“I'd stayed at Posada de San Jose before, so
this was a return visit, and once again
I enjoyed the simple but extremely comfortable and charming room. The staff
were very helpful. Our breakfasts were
very good. I would recommend this hotel
to anyone who enjoys historic and rustic
surroundings. The views from our room
were fantastic. I really love this hotel.
My daughter was enchanted as well.”

“I'm sure you've had that feeling as you're being shown to your room. You're full of anticipation, hoping the room will suit you. For me, it is hoping the room has lots of light, is very clean and maybe even a little spare or simple. That is exactly what we found at Posada de San Jose. I think we were in a family room, because there were three of us. The room had four twin beds all draped in the whitest bed covers. The wood floors gleamed. And the wall of windows opened on to the gorge--we were IN one of the famous casas colgadas of Cuenca! A cool, fragrant breeze blew into the room bringing scents of trees and shrubs from the canyon below. It was really wonderful! We loved this hotel--so simple, so clean and in such a beautiful place, Cuenca!”

“We enjoyed the view greatly. Cuenca is a must. For people who need AC, I wouldn't stay there in the summer. Please ask the management to cut the greenery back (vines) around St. Joseph & baby Jesus. You can barely see the statue & it is the namesake of the hotel/inn. Thanks.”

“We did have difficulty getting our two autos unloaded quickly enough to satisfy the restaurant owner next door. The car park was a little farther away from the hotel than the website described.
The rooms exceeded our expectations. Very clean. Beautifully decorated. Wonderful bathrooms.
The front desk staff was just marvelous.”
