Located only about 10 km. from the famous town of Cuenca, in the wooded countryside, is this friendly small hotel with just thirteen rooms. The location is ideal for relaxation (they have a swimming pool and pretty grounds) and for making day trips to Cuenca and surrounding areas. The house is rustic and the rooms are tastefully decorated, each with its own modern bathroom. The house is surrounded ten hectares of woods and gardens and there are great views from the panoramic windows throughout the house. The interiors feature stone and wood, and there is a grand main hall complete with fireplace and library, making it ideal for all seasons. The rooms have television, telephone, heating and air conditioning, and hairdryer in the bathroom. The jr suite is larger than the double rooms and has a DVD player and the suite has a small fridge, living room and jacuzzi. The hotel serves breakfast and dinner, but not mid-day meals. The closest restaurant to the inn is 5 km away and, of course, there are many fine restaurants in Cuenca. The hotel is just 153 km. from Madrid and is an ideal stopping point if you are travelling to or from Madrid.

Notes Visit the delightful town of Cuenca with its fantastic art galleries, 14th century hanging houses and some wonderful public spaces. Las Torcas, a geological phenomenon, is about 20 km away - seee the circular sunken pits over a 6 km area. The area around Cuenca is ideal for walking and hiking

The brother and sister team running the hotel were fantastic and made us very welcome despite our lack of Spanish. The hotel is really lovely, mixing old and new very well with some creative individual touches. Our kids had a great time too enjoying the pool and the paddle tennis court.
Didn't Like:
Nothing really - the only slight criticism was that the dinner menu in the evening was somewhat confusing. Our limited Spanish probably didn't help with this but some dishes were appetiser size portions whilst other main courses although all being in the same place on the menu.” Rating: Excellent
