The Bremon Hotel is in the heart of the old town of Cardona and has nineteen air conditioned, comfortable ensuite rooms and a very good little restaurant. The hotel is in a lovely 19th century building that has been carefully restored and renovated and which, in a previous life, was a school for Carmelitas. The double rooms, superior double rooms and suites all have modern bathrooms (with bath and shower, robe and slippers) and satellite television. The rooms have big windows and are elegantly decorated with neutral colours and tile floors. There is wi-fi at reception and internet connections in all rooms (but not wi-fi). The restaurant, Les Monges, serves traditional foods with a modern touch. We were very impressed with the food at Les Monges, and the lunch fixed price menu is exceptional. In the hotel there is a very pleasant lounge with fireplace, a library, a terrace on the top floor with views over Cardona. The hotel has its own underground parking and there is also above-ground parking immediately opposite the back of the hotel. The reception staff speak English and are friendly and helpful.
Family Information
The hotel does not have family rooms, but it is possible to put one extra bed to deluxe rooms or 2 extra beds to junior suite.
Meal Information
Les Monges Restaurant serves traditional Catalan food. The hotel's restaurant is closed on Monday, Tuesday and Sunday evening. Service breakfast is always open.
Notes One of Cardona's claims to fame is its Salt mine, which you may tour. The castle (also the home of the Parador) is also well worth a visit. Bremon is centrally located in the old town. Four days during the second week of September is the annual event of the Corre del Bou, or bull run, which takes place in the centre of Cardona, and is part of the Festa Major (dating back to the 16th century). The hotel is 99 km. from Barcelona. Special offer: Discover the Medieval town of Cardona. For stays of 1 or 2 nights: If cancelled more than 7 days prior to reservation, no hotel penalty. If cancelled within seven days of reservation the hotel will charge the amount of one night.
For stays of 3 nights or more: if cancelled within seven days of reservation, hotel will charge 30% of entire stay. In cases where client has booked three or more nights and shortens the number of days reserved (upon arrival or during stay), the hotel will charge 30% of the cost of the remaining nights. In case of no-show, 100% of complete stay charged.
Balearic & Canary Islands
If cancelled between fifteen and eight days of reservation date, the hotel will charge 50% of the total nights reserved. If cancelled seven or less days prior to reservation date, hotel will charge total amount of stay. In case of no-show, 100% of complete stay charged.
