This hotel, high in the Pyrenees mountains close to the French border, was built at the end of the nineteenth century. On a trail that was, and is, part of the way of St. James, it has historical significance. It is located close to many popular ski resorts including Candanchu and Astun. There are fifty nine rooms at this alpine hotel and all are equipped with heating and air conditioning, television, safe (and, of course, full bathroom with hairdryer). The superior double rooms have a double bed, a small living room and two bathrooms. There are also rooms where an extra bed can be installed for a third person. Decorated in simple but pleasing strong elements - wood and iron - the rooms are spacious and bright. The restaurant, under the supervision of Chef Jose Maria Lemos, is a delight, and also has wonderful views over the forest. A new menu is offered each day for both lunch and dinner, and there is an excellent winelist. There is a fitness room, a delightful lounge and coffee bar with a big fireplace, a spa and swimming pool, a wi-fi area and, if you are visiting in the winter months - a ski room for your equipment.
