Situated at the entrance of the town of Burgohondo, a few steps from la Abadía medieval Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, is the small hotel El Linar del Zaire. With splendid views over the Sierra de Gredos and only 30 Km from Ávila, the walled city that has been declared a Patrimonio de la Humanidad (Heritage of Humanity). In an imposing granite building which has been skilfully renovated using many of the original materials, it is now a warm and welcoming charming hotel with seventeen rooms. They are uniquely decorated, each with its own personality. Those rooms on the top floor have large terraces with wonderful vistas. With a swimming pool and extensive gardens, it is a relaxing place to stay and a good base from which to explore this fascinating area. There is a pleasant restaurant where regional cuisine is served.
