30% deposit required upon reserving. The Hotel has a minimum stay of 2 nights on Fridays and Saturdays, and 4 nights during Easter Week.
This small and charming hotel, with just eight ensuite guestrooms is in a 200-year-old restored farmhouse. A skillful renovation has maintained the building's original character and many new and appealing additions have been made. The house, surrounded by gardens, is located in the foothills of the Fontanella Mountains in the region of the High Vinalopó. This is a wonderful place for hiking in the pine forests (or biking) and horseback riding and ballooning are also possible. The eight spacious and airy guestrooms are on the first two floors and are uniquely decorated with restored antiques. All have their own full bathrooms. Six of them have a french roof: one has an individual terrace, two others have a balcony and a loft which can accommodate an extra bed. Wonderful cuisine is offered (but order dinner 24 hours in advance). A relaxing retreat in the countryside in a lovely country house.
Family Information
The jr. suite with a loft and extra bed (futon) is suitable for family of four. A double with small loft with extra bed is suitable for family of three.
Meal Information

Our room, the pool, the breakfast, the owners, everything really.
Liked:
Everything really! The hotel was beautifully situated and the staff and owners were extremely attentive and helpful.
Didn't Like:
The only slight criticism was that the hotel doesn't have anything in the way of signs around the door to indicate it is the Hotel Fontanelles (the front doesn't look like any of the photos on the website). When we arrived the door was locked as the owner was busy and away from the desk so we thought we had come to the wrong place. A small sign on the building would have helped confirm that we were at the hotel and not a private house. Also I think something ought to be done about the incessant barking of the dog at the adjacent property!!! We noticed other comments in the book about this so it has onvioulsy been a problem for other guests too. Other then that we loved it!!Didn't Like:
The dog next door!

Beautiful hotel at a reasonable price with good food. We had a very pleasant stay, the only suggestion would be access to coffee/tea outside meal times.
Rating: Excellent
We found the hotel very friendly and would definitely stay there again. For us, the only thing which would have improved our stay would have been to have tea/coffee facilities in the room.

As first time travelers from our country, we were looking for a little of everything when traveling to Spain. We found that and more when we stayed at Mas Fontanelles. Our hosts, Roberto and Isabel have worked hard to satisfy their clients dreams. After talking to them, I realize that is exactly their dream. They expertly mix professionalism with personalism. The grounds and rooms of the hotel have been created to make the patron feel serene and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are charmingly served with music and ambiance. We will miss Mas Fontanelles. What a wonderful place. We very much hope to return. Such a lovely welcome and we were given loads of information about the area and what to see and do without even asking. The food was excellent and the accommodation just delightful. We can't stop talking about it! It was also amazing value for money.

Lovely place. Lots of character. Quiet and very restful. We loved the town as well. Plenty of local activities. The only disappointment was the sparse breakfast.

There is a very good, new swimming pool and a lovely huge public lounge.
Didn't Like:
The welcome was very cool as we had to stand around waiting to be helped and to pay at the end of our stay. Once we got talking to the hosts they were helpful but we did not feel well received. The room felt tired and the bathroom had a musty smell. The hotel has so much potential but the entrance hall and area through to the dining room were untidy and not welcoming. The dining room was bland and the food was not very good although this was rated as excellent in your information. We would definitely never return to this hotel.
