The hotel is closed from October 25th 2009 to the 5th of March 2010. 4 nights minimum stay in Holy Week (April) and July and 7 nights in August. The hotel requires a 25% deposit for high season booking.
This simple five room pension with exquisite little restaurant, is under the pine trees, just 40 metres from the seashore at the Cala 'Aiguafreda. The location at first looks a little unappealing, as it is at the end of the beach parking lot. However, once the cars are gone, it is quite peaceful. The little inn has a cosy, atmosphere and, if you wish, the owners will be helpful in planning exursions along the coast or to the interesting medieval villages in the surroundings. The bedrooms are very simply decorated and have twin beds, and the small bathrooms have showers. There are no public spaces (i.e. bar). The restaurant serves simple, Mediterranean cuisine with fresh local ingredients, and in the summer months meals can be taken on the relaxing, pretty terrace. The rooms are rather spartan, but all open to a terrace which accesses a path to the Cala. Please note that the restaurant is open March and October only on weekends but for the rest of the year it is open all week. The restaurant opening times vary throughout the seasons - it is open for both lunch and dinner throughout high season but in March, April and October it is not open every night. Every Wednesday in the summer the restaurant boasts live Flamenco. The reception desk is not open between 4 and 7pm so arrivals should be before or after this time. This is an ideal location for whose who want to walk in the area - as there are many paths that are close to the inn. A car is essential to reach Aiguafreda as there is no public transportation to this location, or even near it. You would also need a car to reach restaurants on those occasions when the inn's restaurant is closed.

Our stay at Sa Rascassa near Begur surpassed our expectations. The rooms were exactly as described but the location, the restaurant, the general ambience and the proprietor made the experience quite memorable.

It was a lovely place to stay, and the host was very helpful. The restuarant below our room was lovely, and the location was quiet at night. The scenery is amazing. You can't take a bad photograph!

Sa Racassa was an ideal place to stay with superb service- Oscar was wonderful- and the food in the restaurant was incredible. I have nothing but good things to say about our stay. I felt the merits of Sa Racassa were not adequately portrayed on your site.

While the rooms are spartan, they are clean and the Mediterranean is right there. In addition, Oscar is extremely helpful and accommodating and his restaurant below served some of the best food we had in Spain!
Rating: Very Good
The rooms are good, clean, the breakfast is very good and the food at the restaurant at night excellent. However, the price is rather high - we paid the same amount in the center of Barcelona in a very attractive hotel with excellent services too.
Rating: Very Good
Basic rooms, but lots of charm and all in a beautiful, peaceful setting, away from crowds. The restaurant serves delicious food and has a good selection of excellent local wine. The owner, Oscar, is very helpful & knowledgable about the area, he is courteous and efficient and speaks English fluently. We are already planning our return!

Oscar the owner was very friendly and more than helpful in every respect. Other staff also good. Friday and Saturday night quite noisy (resturant under bedroom windows) until quite late (1 am ish) we didnt mind but some people might. Divers going down to beach starts very early Saturday and Sunday. Food delicious.

Just wasn't prepared for sparse nature of room. Inn Keeper could not have been more helpful. We should have reserved extra room for our son. Little tight but then we weren't in our room that much. Just for your info! Again dinner and staff were terrific!

Owner does not live on site. Hotel often closed in PM. Disconcerting to arrive at this time. Rooms basic and not directly accessible from hotel. Happily it did not rain! Food excellent
Rating: Poor
Nowhere to sit comfortably in the hostal- no sitting or relaxing room.Nobody at the hotel -between 4 and 7 each day, making for awkward arrivals. Goos breakfast though and good wine.
