The hotel was lovely and the service was excellent. The food was of exceptionally high quality and the price was reasonable.

The air conditioner made a loud clicking noise everytime it turned on (about every five minutes). Otherwise the room was great - the bathroom was fabulous.”

There were so many things to like:
- The hotel is beautifully situated with lovely terraces and views.
- The bedroom is lovely - has retained the good feature of the old building with excellent design and all requiremnets for comfort fulfilled
- The location is excellent. Parking would be an issue in Begur with other hotels but not this one. A nice walk of ten minutes to be in the town but remember there are plenty of hills!
- The best thing about the hotel is the welcome from the excellent manager and staff.
- The breakfast is very good , high quality fodd on a beautifull little terrace.
- The restaurant is excellent the best in Begur.

The site and the facilities were lovely. We stayed in room #1... part of the formerstables. Everything has been refurbished elegantly, and we loved our outdoor patio with table, chairs and umbrella. It even came with a local cat that was amenable to sitting on my lap! We had a mini refrig, and a very ample bathroom. Their restaurant is so good! We had a fabulous breakfast every day, and on the last evening, had dinner- amazing foods!
Miguel was the best of hosts- and gave us the perfect itinerary for our 3 days on the Costa Brava. We walked into town every evening whether for dinner or for a drink and shopping. Begur is a special place- great shopping- not all touristic stuff! Nice people watching too.
We were close enough to walk to the fortress above the village, which has great views of the sea and mountains.
I would go back in a heart beat, and recommend this place to everyone. Galena is Miguel's wife and her name means "a soft wind form the sea" in Greek.Mas Comengau means (in Catalan) the farm of Comengau- the original farmer owner. Between the town and the hotel, it's a fabulous find!

The hotel was really great and corresponded to what we thought it was going to be like. The owners were friendly and helpful and spoke English (yeah!). The restaurant was nice and the breakfast feast quite amazing. Views from the terrace were wonderful. A great base to explore the Begur region from.
