The hotel is in an eighteenth century building that formerly housed the Santiago Pilgrims Hospital, preserving the facade of the chapel bearing the same name, and an adjoining building created by the architect Cardenas in 1906. It is located in the city centre of Astorga, just a few metres from the Cathedral, the Gaudi Palace and the Roman walls. With its 19th century garden, it is a delightful place to stay and ideal for exploring the city. Meticulous care was taken in its restoration and refurbishment, and it now has the most modern of amenities in its four suites and six double rooms. There is no restaurant at the hotel but there is an agreement with a local restaurant to serve evening meals and lunches when ordered in advance. The cuisine is traditional and local and meals are available for lunch and dinner.

A quaint spot in the middle of town, where you felt you where actually on the outskirts. A loved the history of the building, and it's unique character, plus our host was a charming man how happily explained the story of his family home to us.
A self service bar at the price seems a bit lazy to me, but it does say something for the trust they have in the people that stay there.”
