5 night minimum reservation in August and 4 night minimum stay policy over Easter. Closed over Christmas.
Juan and Jose chose to build this small hotel (twenty four double rooms and two suites) in a small fishing village just 50 metres from the beach within the natural park of Cabo de Gata Nijar, known for its tranquillity, pleasant temperatures, and its proximity to all sorts of outdoor activities. Emulating the various building styles found in the white towns, like large windows to catch the Mediterranean light, terraces, whitewashed walls and planters full of red geraniums, the addition of a swimming pool completes the relaxing ambience. The rooms are spacious and comfortable decorated, each with its own terrace. The suites also have their own in-home jacuzzi. There is a casual bar-cafe in the hotel and delicious breakfasts are served here. There are several good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Many activities are available in the natural park of Nijar Cabo de Gata, and this is a scuba diving centre. Possibilities exist for hiking, golf, visits to historic towns or just sitting on the nearby beach. Please note that no extra beds can be put in the double rooms (maximum two persons). This hotel is adult-oriented and is unsuitable for children. Almeria is the closest airport.
Notes
Many seaside activities possible here - from swimming to diving. Great walking and hiking in the area.

Very new hotel run by some very charming people. The owner has a lot of pride in his place and it shows. Truely outstanding room, we had one with a huge jacuzzi tub in it.The bathroom was all stone (travertine and granite). The small balcony had a veiw of the Med. The hotel was awesome but the town really sucks. I got sick from eating at the Playa de "something" on the beachfront. Bring your own food and lots of wine and you might enjoy this godforsaken little town with its tiny beach and rain. Great hotel though.

Staff very friendly and welcoming, and the suite we had, room 11, is perfect. For us personally, maybe we might prefer somewhere less chic, nevertheless an excellent place to stay and Agua Amargua, which we have known for over twenty years, has grown but retains its charm, at least in the quiet week we were there at end May.

The hotel was absolutely perfect. However, someone (I do not know whether it was the hotel or Inns of Spain) made a mistake with our reservation. We requested a suite, but when we arrived we found that the hotel had on record that we wanted a regular room. Fortunately, a suite was available, so everything worked out well.

Liked:
The town was a wonderful place to stay--small and not touristy at all. We drove through Mojocar and were so happy there had not been room in the parador there--much too touristy and Miami beach like. The rooms were incredible and all around this was a truly beautiful place to stay. Great mojitos by the pool! The one issue is that the description say no children but we had two teens with us and there were other kids. We felt alittle self conscious wondering if other patrons were upset that we were there. Clarification of this policy would be helpful.
Didn't Like:
Breakfast/coffee service starts at 9:00. Tough on early birds.

The highlights were the jacuzzi bath and the fabulous breakfasts. Very relaxing!

We really enoyed the hotel. It was a pity they did not have a restaurant for evening meal as the breakfast was excellent. The village setting was amazing.

Lovely place, comfortable, kind staff, excellent breakfast. You probably need to warn people that no one speaks any English - why should they indeed, but you tend to expect that they will so if you don't speak any Spanish it can be problematic! It would be great too if they intend to offer meals other than breakfast at some stage as the local restaurants are limited.
Rating: Very Good
Unfortunately they do not serve any food at lunch time. A sandwich would have been much appreciated.

The rooms are lovely and the hotel itself very stylish. Breakfast is excellent. My only negative comments would be that they charge extra to use their gym facilities (which are nothing special) and these were not available when we stayed over Easter.
