Casa Sibarita

Casa Sibarita is nestled in the Valencian village of Rafelguaraf and is surrounded by the lovely countryside of La Ribera Alta. This small inn has just five pleasant, air-conditioned, ensuite rooms, some with terrace overlooking the garden. The secluded courtyard garden houses a 30ft swimming pool and a further two terraces. The restaurant, bar and sitting room open on to the patio to take advantage of the warm summer evenings but in winter are made wonderfully snug by a roaring log fire. The ground floor of the house retains many of its original features including a stunning double-height barrel vaulted ceiling, hand-painted floor tiles, huge fireplace and full height double doors to the street and garden, through which the original occupants would have driven their horse and cart into the courtyard. The upper floor accommodates the guest rooms, each named for one of Spain's most beautiful cities and individually finished to exacting standards of comfort and design. All the bedrooms are light and airy, with cathedral ceilings and large shuttered windows. The restaurant is open to residents for breakfast and to residents and their guests for dinner. The menus are international in flavour with a distinctly Mediterranean slant. The village location provides a tranquil retreat yet is close to the coastal resorts and larger towns.
