A large, typically Andalucian country house dating from 1899 which is surrounded by 25 hectares of dry farming. A garden with palm trees, a central patio with bougainvillea and geraniums and a swimming pool add to the charm of this delightful Cortijo. The spacious and bright rooms with tiles, earthenware, wood and stone and delicate antiques. There is also a gym and a delightful spot for an aperitif in the south-facing porch. The stables are located off the main courtyard, and the horses are available to guests to ride. This is a typically Spanish cortijo and often most of the guests are Spanish. One of the staff members speaks English (but is not there all the time). Evening meals (home-cooking) can be prepared for you but you need to advise the hotel at breakfast if you wish to eat in. There are restaurants in surrounding towns 5 km. and less from the Cortijo. This inn is very popular with Spaniards (often not a word of English is spoken) -- so if you are English speaking only and want to chat with other guests, this may not be an appropriate choice. We did not feel comfortable using all the facilities because the owner was there and was hosting a Christening party for his daughter. He was friendly and assured us that we did, and that we were invited. However, we would not have felt comfortable using the pool or common areas surrounded by his family and guests in the midst of their celebration, and not knowing any of them, we would not have felt comfortable attending. We had expected a quiet atmosphere with potentially a few other couples. On the positive side, the couple who manage the inn were great- friendly, efficient and welcoming. Our room was quite nice as well.

I was happy enough with the room. The breakfast was very basic . ( cerial , tea , toast & jam - no cheese , eggs , hot choice , etc. Pool was in need of some cleaning. Need a car if going there. The staff were very friendly though and this is no reflection on them.
