Cortijo El Esparragal

Monks of the order of San Jerónimo built a monastery here in the 15th century. At the end of the 19th century it was reformed and renovated to create one of the most magnificent buildings in Andalusia. The main facade boasts a ceramic-tiled tower, Roman-arched windows, colourful bougainvillaea and a 17th century chapel. It has two main patios, one of which used to be the original cloister. The rooms, living areas and dining room are elegantly decorated with oil paintings , mudejar doors, gilt mirrors and tapestries. El Esparragal is surrounded by 3,000 hectares of pasture used for breeding fighting bulls and Spanish horses. Other features include a large reservoir, a bullring and a swimming pool. In the spacious restaurant you can enjoy traditional Andalusian cuisine. The hotel is situated approximately 21 km. from Seville and has seventeen double rooms and one triple room.
