Where

Segovia is the capital of Castilla y Leon and is about an hour’s drive north of Madrid.

When

The weather is similar to Madrid’s, that is – hot in summer and cool in winter.  Best time to visit is late spring or early autumn.

Why

The old city of Segovia has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and contains many interesting  monuments  surrounded by the old city walls (built in the 8th century).  Among the many buildings and historic sites are the incredibly well preserved 1st century Roman Aqueduct, the Alcazar and the 16th century Gothic cathedral.  This is a wonderful city for a walking tour, and the walls can be easily explored in a day. 

Accommodation

We have one very pleasant small town in the heart of old Segovia (but with easy parking).  A perfect location from which to park your car for a few days and explore the area on foot.  We also have several inns in the outskirts of Segovia.
