Click to make a request for this hotel Click to view contact information Click to view larger photos for this hotel A simple 18th century country house which has retained much of the original architecture, including the chapel and the old library (where you can glance at books from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.) All the furniture and paintings that decorate bedrooms, sitting and dining rooms are perfectly preserved. Some rooms are housed in the former stables but are quite comfortable, other rooms are in the main house. The house is surrounded by 15.000 square metres of garden and is located 7 kms from the town of Santiago de Compostela, which was the most important pilgrims destination of Europe from the middle ages. Maica, the owner, is passionate about the history and beauty of Galicia and she can recommend some excellent walks in Santiago de Compostella or arrange a special tour to parts of the the cathedral l(to places where tourists rarely see). Note that Maica doesn't speak English. Guests should not miss the complete, delightful breakfast served every morning. There are no telephones or televisions in this inn. There are ten double rooms and one single room in the hotel. There is an excellent restaurant within two minutes walk-- Roberto's--and also a village restaurant which serves regional food. Other than breakfast, meals are not served at the hotel. Please note that often there are no English-speaking staff on duty. Click to make a request for this hotel

A quirky hotel, with an eclectic mix of furniture. Friendly people, great breakfast, good room (superior double). Location good for Santiago de Compostela. Recommended.

Totally wonderful! I found out about the hotel from a New York Times travel article, but any website that could send me to a hotel like this gets full marks!

Absolutely excellent. Extremely warm welcome, a family home dating back to the 17th century but with all mod cons. Best breakfast I have ever had in Spain.
