Where	Salamanca is the capital of Castille-Leon and is located approximately 200 km west of Madrid.
When	Spring and fall are the best times to visit in terms of the weather, as summer can be rather hot (temperatures reaching over 40 C).
Why	Salamanca is the site of Spain’s oldest university (and one of the oldest in Europe) and has a wealth of historic monuments and buildings; it has been designated at UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are 15 museums to visit, and the Plaza Mayor is a wonderful place to sit and pass the time.
