Pollenca (Pollensa) is located on the northeast of the island of Mallorca, about 58 km. from Palma.

When

The weather is pleasant year-round in this pretty place but it can get very busy at the time of the summer international music festival (July and August each year).

Why

Pollenca is one of the most pleasant resorts on Mallorca, with a lovely bay, beaches and a promenade flanked by palm trees.  Pollensa has been a  destination of painters and artists since the beginning of this century and there are numerous art galleries and cultural events that take place year-round.  A fascinating feature of the town is its Stations of the Cross, El Calvari, with 365 steps flanked  with cypress trees leading up the hill to the oratory dating from the end of the XVIIIth century.  There is a fine bridge, built by the Romans about 123 B.C. that leads into the town.
