Palma is the capital of Mallorca (on the Balearic Islands) and is located on the southwest of the island in the Bahia de Palma.

The weather is very pleasant year-round in this cosmopolitan city.  It is less busy in the spring and autumn.

Why

This lovely city is very appealing to those who enjoy sophisticated city life but also want the opportunity to explore the beautiful coves and beaches of the island.  Palma has an impressive marina, and some beautiful architecture, including the gothic cathedral which is the second largest in Spain.  The town is full of great restaurants and bars and lots of year-round attractions.  The town is best seen on foot (parking can be horrendous).  The promenade, El Paseo Maritimo, is a delightful place to stroll along the seafront.
