A visit to the Nerja cave is fascinating. The cave is 4,283m long, but only a third of it ( the area called the Low Galleries) can be visited. The cave has almost all known types of natural formations, and access is easy thanks to its high, wide entrance chambers. There are some great beaches in and around Nerja, including El Playazo, Cala del Canuelo, Cala del Pino, Carabeillo Chico. Its historic quarter has fine examples of popular architecture, with lovely walks and significant areas such as the Balcón de Europa, a pleasant place from which to watch the sea. There is good hiking in the hills around Frigiliana. |
