Casa Pernias

In a rural setting, surrounded by the sierras del Buitre, and some 90 kilómetros from the capital of Murcia, is the new Casa Pernías, a wonderfully relaxing little finca/estancia with a very good restaurant and friendly owners. A location full of opportunities for hiking, biking or touring - the little hotel itself is a warm haven in which to rest and to enjoy the traditional cuisine of the region in its restaurant. In restoring the old building, as much of possible of the original materials have been restored and reintroduced, along with huge windows offering splendid views. There are sixteen spacious guestrooms, all with their own modern bathroom. The decoration is a pleasing mix of old and new, antiques and modern styles combined, and with fresh flowers throughout. On the main floor there are two salons, one with a big fireplace, and the other overlooking the garden. The restaurant serves a good regional cuisine using fresh local ingredients. You can enjoy the art of Spanish contemporary painters Hernández Pijoan, Abraham Lacalle and Luis Gordillo. There is an outdoor pool and a terrace from which to enjoy the views while you sunbathe. The proprietor, María del Carmen Mellinas, and her staff will offer you a warm and friendly welcome.
