Posada del Rio

This small, informal, family-run inn in Alozaina is friendly and well-placed for visiting some special places in this popular area. The Posada is in a historic building from the 16th-17th century with thick outer walls (good for those hot days). The inn has just eleven uniquely furnished double rooms (all en suite of course), complete with television and telephone, wi-fi internet connection and balcony. The situation is in a quiet street but within easy walking distance of the Plaza Major. Some of the rooms face the Sierra and others face the old village. The restaurant serves regional specialties and international cuisine, and there is a comfortable living room with open fireplace and a delightful patio complete with mediterranean plants. A perfect places to relax after a busy day's sightseeing. Let the host know if you want to have lunch or dinner at the restaurant (in advance). There are several typical Spanish bars in the village serving tapas and also three restaurants within easy walking distance. English (and a host of other languages) is spoken here. The posada does not have its own parking, but it is possible to park outside the hotel for loading and unloading and the staff will help you with suggestions of a parking spot. This is a friendly and inexpensive place to stay.
