This city hotel in one of the most central areas of Madrid is close to the Gran Via. The elegant building has been skilfully refurbished and now offers about a hundred gorgeous rooms of various types. There are basic double rooms, superior doubles, doubles with terrace and some with jacuzzi, and one duplex room (note that there are no extra beds available at this hotel). The avant-garde style combines beautifully with the decor which focuses on culture, literature and the arts - hence its name. All the air conditioned rooms have wi-fi, minibar, satellite television (plasma screen tvs), safe and telephone and, of course, full modern bathrooms. There is a rooftop terrace and a restaurant, bar and lounge and, on the lower floor, a gym next to the Spa. The Letras' restaurant is on the ground floor of the hotel and offers an interesting and varied cuisine -- from the most elegant to the most casual tapas. It is certainly one of most desirable places to be seen in Madrid!
