Molino del Rio Alajar

A past-winner of the Huelva Province Tourism Award, this property, consisting of self-catering cottages, is situated among some of the finest mountain scenery to be found in Southern Spain, amidst cork oak and chestnut forests, this is a comfortable retreat in a unique Spanish setting. There are six stone cottages that stand on raised ground on the banks of the river with commanding views over the valley and surrounding hills. The interiors are warm and inviting, with chestnut beams and windows, terra cotta tiles and comfortable furniture. The two larger houses, La Ciguena and El Conejo sleep four to six people (with a large sitting room with open fireplace, kitchen, and bathroom - and there are four single beds in the gallery room upstairs and, with a separate entrance, a bedroom with a double bed and ensuite bathroom). Both houses have terraces for dining alfresco. El Buho can accommodate two people (and like the other houses, has a kitchen) and La Tortuga is for four people and include a bedroom with two single beds, wood-burning stove, kitchen, and an ensuite bathroom - again, with a small terrace. Zoya, sleeps four and has a good size sitting room with an open fireplace, dining area and kitchen and french windows on to a raised terrace overlooking the river. It has another separate double bedded room with bathroom. El Aguila (for two adults and two children) has similar amentities to the other houses. All the houses have television and telephone and there is a swimming pool among the oaks for guest use. This is a lovely area in which to walk and the pretty village of Alajar (with five bars and restaurants and grocery stores) is 1.2 km. away. Note that the prices are per night, but there is a minimum 2 night stay weekends and 7 night stay in high season.
