Mas Crisaran

A warm, luxury hotel located in a 15th century country house in the Baix Empordá, located very close to the most beautiful places in the Costa Brava. The building looks across a beautiful valley surrounded by small medieval villages of great interest. It has kept its elegant exterior, but is thoroughly modernised inside. The interiors evoke past travels in Africa and India--each of the 8 rooms and the suite are named after a city from one of these countries and furnished with tropical rattan and colourful hand-made lamps and African and Indian ornaments. All rooms are equipped with TV, telephone and air conditioning. There is a large and spacious lounge which has a preserved typical Catalan vaulted ceiling. Mas Crisaran is the project of two travellers who have created an intimate and interesting hotel with lovely gardens, a swimming pool and a charming restaurant where a blend of local and colonial cuisine are served. The staff are from a variety of exotic places: Senegal, Ecuador and from Spain, and visitors report an exceptionally warn welcome and caring service. Breakfast is served in the restaurant overlooking the outstanding garden. There are nine double rooms and the Portobello Suite. Hotel Mas Crisaran is located 20 km. from Gerona and 100 km. from Barcelona. Breakfast is included. This small, quiet hotel is not suitable for children.
