The property is surrounded by an old stone wall and has 40,000 square metres of garden and groves with 2 impressive horreos, a keep, a dovecot and a chapel. Within this extensive property there are ideal spots for relaxed conversation, reading or walking. The traditions of the region, and a great part of its artistic and historical heritage revolve around Santiago de Compostela (38 km. away) The main dining room is in the gallery leading from the main house to the chapel, with large windows on both sides giving a magnificent panoramic view of the estate. On the house's upper level is the current gallery, the old stables of the estate which have been completely refurbished and converted into wonderful guest rooms, each of which is named after a woman married to a male member of the Varela family, the owners since the 16th century. The rooms are decorated in warm colours and have full ensuite bathrooms, telephone and television. Click to make a request for this hotel
