Posada del Marques

This special hotel was once part of a monastery with a fascinating history, and part of the building is still used by a religious order and you can listen to the Gregorian chants in the church each day. Situated in the town centre of Carrizo, surrounded by gardens and farms, part of the building is now run as a delightful small inn by its current owner, a Marquis and a descendent of the original owner. There are eleven spacious double ensuite rooms all furnished with antiques. This is a special place to stay, with its cloisters and pebbled entrance and courtyard. In the large gardens there is still in use a fourteenth century watering system. The inn has private parking and bicycles for guest use. Nearby there is golf and horseriding. Only breakfast is served at the inn but there are restaurants in the vicinity.
