Madreselva Canos

Los Canos de Meca is a sleepy seaside town, deserted in winter and busy with surfers, windsurfers and beachlovers in the summertime. It is also the location of the lighthouse at the tip of Cabo de Trafalgar, reputedly the last land that Admiral Nelson saw before he died in battle. The Madreselva Hotel is an informal, friendly place with eighteen double rooms and one apartment for four people, each with their own patio-garden. The rooms are brightly decorated and charming and have full bathrooms. There is a swimming pool but the sandy beach is just across the road. There is no air conditioning in the rooms but there are fans and the cool seabreeze. All rooms have satellite television and are simply but comfortably furnished. Breakfast is served on the terrace and is included in the price of the room. There is a bar at the Madreselva but no restaurant (there are several in the vicinity). The hotel will accept well-behaved small dogs. This is an informal, easy-going hotel with a young staff.
