Cadiz is a fascinating town, both for its extraordinary location (on a peninsula jutting out into the bay and surrounded almost entirely by water) and its old charming centre, full of interesting streets and squares, with Moorish buildings that reflect its history as a centre of international trade. A tour of the town should include visiting the cathedral and the old town churches, La Santa Cueva (home to several paintings by Goya) and Casa del Almirante and Casa de las Cadenas, There is a lovely walk along the headland, through the old town and parks. |
