Aire de Bardenas

The hotel is located in the Bardenas Reales Nature Reserve in the heart of 'Ribeira', near Tudela. Aire de Bardenas is a horizontal hotel, as level and straight as the surrounding countryside. In this sense it is unique, and to prove it the hotel houses a display of real, still life landscapes. Natalia, who co-owns the hotel with her sister Diana, says even the windows are decoration. The views are of crops and sheep-filled fields which are a constant presence throughout the hotel. The building is camouflaged among the wheat fields using an unusual arrangement of wooden crates. Some of the fantastic bedrooms are located in independent cubes with comfortable beds moulded into the panoramic windows enveloping you in the great outdoors, others unfold onto a private patio with an open air tub shaded by a quince tree. Submerged lacquered iron tubs in the rooms add an avant-garde touch to this unusual and attractive property. The cuisine is creative and seasonal, using vegetables from the hotel’s own allotment. Lunch and dinner is served from Tuesday to Sunday, around 40 euros.
